Další břehy 2025 Opava – festival visual identity
About the Další břehy 2025 festival
The Další břehy 2025 festival in Opava celebrates its 25th anniversary and presents a rich multi-genre program connecting theatre, music, visual arts, and discussions on current social topics. The main theme of this year’s edition is “We may feel fear, but we must not be afraid” — a theme reflecting courage, heroism, and the struggle against fear. This idea is reflected not only in the festival’s dramaturgy, but also in its visual identity, which I was pleased to create.
Graphic design for the Další břehy 2025 festival
As the graphic designer of the festival, I designed the main visual, drawing direct inspiration from the artwork The Ascent to the Empyrean by the Dutch painter Hieronymus Bosch. This historical reference was combined with a contemporary graphic style to engage modern audiences and emphasize the deep symbolism of the festival’s theme. The festival’s visual identity connects traditional art with modern design, creating a distinctive and memorable aesthetic.
The graphic concept of the festival includes a complete visual system, covering posters, banners, program materials, online graphics, and promotional elements. Each element was carefully designed to communicate the festival’s core message and visually unify the entire edition.
My goal was to create a compelling, dynamic, and expressive visual identity that not only attracts festival visitors, but also helps strengthen the festival’s brand and legacy. By connecting historical art with contemporary graphic design, Další břehy 2025 gains a unique and distinctive visual character.
